THIS IS A COMPOSITE FOR THE SET OF 5 + Cover sheet - Catalogue # 1977.06

The known story of this work is that initially, John Campione printed the six images on one sheet.  Sol realized there were several mistakes in the arrangements and thus had Jo Watanabe re-print them.  There are two known Printer’s Proofs and at least one Artist Proof that is known.  However, the AP is noted as AP 5/12 and thus the assumption is that all 12 were made.  None from “the edition” have ever been located and supposedly they were destroyed.

As to the differences: these are the different combinations in the following plates on this composite version of the print:

3rd sheet in this portfolio (in accordance with inventory image (horizontal)-(located top center in this proof)

4th sheet in this portfolio (in accordance with inventory image (horizontal)-(located bottom center in this proof) - also different color combinations when compared to the portfolio set.

5th sheet in this portfolio (in accordance with inventory image (horizontal)-(located bottom left in this proof)
